No need to date yourself, but today’s Smithsonian Snapshot is of an early microwave oven from 1976, courtesy of our National Museum of American History. The idea was patented after noticing that a magnetron was emitting heat-generating microwaves during an experiment with radar in 1945.

French Margarita
2/3 oz gold tequila1/3 oz Grand Marnier
1/4 oz lime juice
1/4 oz orange juice
1/4 oz sweet and sour
1/3 oz Chambord
Pour tequila into a glass, add the Grand Marnier, lime juice, orange juice, and sweet and sour. Cover with a shaker, shake, and pour contents into a margarita glass. Top with Chambord and garnish with fresh raspberries and blackberries.
